Alex is a New York State licensed and Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA), who has extensive years of clinical experience in various care settings. He is the Clinical Director for CAIPA, who leads the care coordination team and manages the home assessment program.

Prior to CAIPA, he spent five years serving the critically ill and underprivileged patients at Bellevue Hospital Center as a Trauma/Critical Care PA. While at Bellevue he further expanded his clinical horizon working part time as a primary care PA in the Asian community. In 2014, Alex transitioned over to NYU Langone Health Department of Neurosurgery to enhance his operative skills. There he functioned as a first assist PA, who also evaluated, treated and managed floor and intensive care level type patients. After years of serving patients on a clinical level, he took the leap of faith and joined CAIPA with specific focus on population health and healthcare policy.

Outside of work, Alex is very active with PA leadership as he holds the title of Diversity Chair and the Chair of the Chinese American Physician Assistant Special Interest Group for the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA). He is a strong PA advocate in the community, educating the public about the profession and mentoring PAs and aspiring PAs. He hopes to further the profession’s involvement to address health disparity issues in minority communities and to extend access to quality healthcare.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant studies at Long Island University in 2008 and received his MBA in Healthcare Administration from Quinnipiac University in 2018.
