Vice President, Health Economics & Data Analytics
Jing Shui joined CAIPA in 2019. In his role as Vice President of Health Economics & Data Analytics, Jing will build a new Data Analytics unit and expand the analytical capabilities at CAIPA to help the organization meet the challenges in the healthcare marketplace.
Jing brings nearly 30 years of experience in health care and health insurance analytics. Jing started his professional career with the United Hospital Fund of New York, where he spent six years analyzing the financial and operational performances for the city’s voluntary and municipal hospital systems. Jing later moved into the health insurance industry and worked for NYLCare Health Plans as a member of its corporate Healthcare Analytics team. In 1998, Jing joined HIP Health Plan of New York (which later became EmblemHealth after merging with GHI). During his 20 year tenure with EmblemHealth, Jing played various roles. As Director of Methods & Measurement, he managed the company’s HEDIS & QARR reporting and analytics for all quality improvement activities. As Senior Director of Informatics, he led the Clinical Informatics Department and oversaw analytics in many different areas, including medical utilization management, clinical care management, population risk assessment, network PCPs and specialists performance evaluation, as well as support for ACO and provider P4P programs.
Jing received his Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He also completed a World Health Organization fellowship in health economics & management at Harvard School of Public Health.
